Leadership Fayette County 2023 Application

Leadership Fayette County is a program designed to develop leadership in our community by providing experiences to Fayette County students in their junior year of high school.  If you are a sophomore ready to learn, grow, share, and thrive as a leader, apply today!

What are we looking for?

Leadership Fayette County is an extremely competitive program and only accepts a limited number of students each year (twelve to fourteen). At least one student from each Fayette County high school is selected. Selection is based on factors such as application, interview, motivation, character, individuality, critical thinking, and diversity.

Application Process

Every sophomore is encouraged to apply. Every sophomore applicant will be interviewed. During the application process students must demonstrate courage, outside-the-box thinking, and an interest in self-improvement. Completed applications and interviews are scored by the selection committee. Every applicant receives a written notice of acceptance or nonacceptance.

How it fits into school

It is important to note that LFC meets in different locations each month of the school year (August through May) from 8am to 3pm. Students are responsible for their own transportation to the various venues. Each session is considered by the Board of Education as an approved educational leave of absence. Program sponsors provide breakfast and lunch at each session. There is no cost to participate in this program.
